Sending Christmas Cheer! from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick and I enjoyed being able to sleep in - but I didn't.

Got to enjoy a bit of time on the tablet and then need to drop of Christmas gifts. We headed to Nancy's first and gave her her gift. Then we went to moms and dropped off her gifts. I was going to go to the mail box, but had the wrong key. I had Nancy's. Too funny. I don't know where mom put her key, so didn't bother. Patrick watered her plants. Then we headed to Phil and Emily's. Patrick ...

Back To Olympia And Wrapping from Quilting My Way

This morning, we were up bright and early. Patrick had his kidney doctor appointment, and it was at 8:30 am.  We were out the door in time. Got up there and were in and out pretty quickly. Even Patrick's blood draws were done fast. I like his kidney doctors, she's a kick and she's on it with his medications. She's the first one to call him when his electrolytes are off. Too bad she's not a GP, or I would go to her! lol

We then went to Costco! OH, MY! It was crowded ...

Embroidery With Sandy from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up early. One of those mornings, but I needed to be. I had things to do today.

I headed to the bank to find out why 3 checks were not cashed. It was a month since I wrote the checks. Then I stopped at Phils to give him his ornament.  Once that was done, I headed to the grange.

Sandy was there already and ironing her fabrics. I pulled out my bonsai tree embroidery and worked on it.

I worked on one light yellow and the dark yellow. I found I was using the wrong color ...

Back To Embroidery from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up, played a bit, and went back to bed. Before I did, I wrote a piece in the kingdom chat letting them know how ticked I was that because I didn't spell out the name, and put "..." they assumed I said, "@%$!" which I didn't. I let them know who wrong that was to go after someone over spelling. I don't know it if will help - but it made me feel better and I went back to bed. I slept another 2 hours. lol

When I did get up and become part of this ...

Embroidery And Veterans Day Celebration from Quilting My Way

This morning I had to get everything ready to go. I had quilts, flyers, and quilt tops. Then it was off to embroidery.

I listened to my book while heading over to Love's for gas. Then headed to Centralia to get coffee and head to the grange.

I worked on the hummingbird piece today.

I got most of the leaves done by the nest. I'm not sure I like the color of the leaves. But that the color I have in the kit. It is different.  I was enjoying this.

Then I had to get moving to the ...

Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

We had our embroidery meeting today. Mom and Sandy's friend made 5 of us. We had a good meeting with mom chatting up a storm.

I got more done on my Space Needle. Sandy said I should add a picnic tablet. At first I was wondering why, the she said,  "you mentioned the picnic table that your grandmother said was the Taylor picnic table." That was on Alki Point in Seattle.  Back when there wasn't a lot of people going there. Like a secret.  When I visited with cousin Cindy 10 years ago, it was still there. But ...

One Heck Of A Busy Day from Quilting My Way

Patrick was out the door for golfing when I finally got up. I had my list ready to go. Had breakfast and headed out the door. Since it was Monday,  I was ready for my list of things to do.

Headed out yo the grange, but had olplaces to be before and after.  I went to the bank, Safeway for coffee at Starbucks, post office and old Fullers store for cupcakes. I asked how much a really cute moose dessert was and was told $11 each. I about died! They used to have the best cakes and cupcakes but they ...

Monday Embroidery from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick went golfing and I went to embroidery.  I stopped off at the post office to find it closed. I told someone going in and he said, "Oh. Columbus Day." So. I headed to embroidery.

I worked on my Seattle piece. Decided to add color to my Space Needle.  I think it looks better. Still have a lot to do.

Tried to stop at Copy Depot but they were closed as well.  So came on home.

Helped Patrick get some butternut squash in the freezer as well as the berry pie I made. Of course Patrick had 2 ...

Embroidery And Beading from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and enjoying a few minutes playing before going to embroidery.  Sandy and I enjoyed a fun day working on our embroidery.  I worked on my Space Needle part.

O have a few ideas how to improve this. The black darker lines are my embroidery work. The others are my guide lines.

Sandy was braiding the floss. It's supposed to help with the threads getting tangled. I did add few of mine. I think I will do that with my threads as I add them to the taps. I need to remember to bring my ...

Embroidery Day - Crocheting from Quilting My Way

Today Patrick woke me before he headed out for golfing. I got up to get moving to our meeting.  Sandy V and Sandy were there with me. Took some veggies too.

I finished my whale. Then I finished the potholder I started last night.

Then started another one. They go fast and break up my getting tired of the same thing.

Went to get 2 quilts but mistook Connie for Colleen.  Left Connie's laughing and went to Colleen's to get 2 quilts. Then went to pick up a quilt from Debbie while having coffee at Dutch Brothers.

Finally ...

Long Day from Quilting My Way

Woke around 7:45 am but our classes didn't start till 9 am. I decided to shower and clean up before heading down to our meeting room. I was uncomfortable being in that room without friends close by.

Arrived early, had a doughnut and then sat and chatted with our group. At least the ones that were there. Sandy and her sister went downstairs to the breakfast room.

We started the day with doing Bigfoot, public market and the tulips.

First we did the tulip. Everyone loves my tree but I didn't think it looked like a good ...

A Little Behind Again from Quilting My Way

Was so tired yesterday that I completely forgot my blog.

We have been doing a lot of different things for our projects.  It all free "classes" where we enjoy each other's company.

I need to work on where I want to place the tree and other items that represents Seattle.

I did decide on my whale. So got busy working on it.

After all the classes we went to Jack's BBQ not far away. Then best BBQ I have had in a long time.

Then back to hotel. I ended up on the 3rd floor way away from ...

Usual Monday Meeting from Quilting My Way

This morning I had a list of stuff to do. So, started out heading to Rite Aid,  visit Phil, head to post office,  then to Colleen's, with a stop at Starbucks for coffee and tea. Once all that was over, I headed to the grange.

Sandy was there with Geralyn.  We chatted for awhile before mom showed up. Then mom took over the conversation.

I worked on the hummingbird piece since I didn't take my beads. Thought we were done when I took this.

Was able to stitch a few more stitches before we called it done.

Headed ...

Made It Back Home from Quilting My Way

Yesterday we went to a tracker show/tracker parade/knife and gun show.

Loved seeing this! We stopped and visited with dad since he was selling knives at the show. He had them overpriced and can understand why he hasn't been able to sell them. No one can tell him otherwise,  too stubborn.

Today we were on the plane at 11 am central time. We made it to Minneapolis around 2pm. We weren't leaving there till 6:45 pm. So, I got a salad at Chilli's and Patrick had a bad day. Took awhile for him to ...

Two For One - Making Up For Yesterday from Quilting My Way

Yesterday we spent most of the day outside.  I was able to get some embroidery done.

I worked on the nest. I need to finish it. Then I decided to work on the leaves. It's not my favorite to do satin stitch for the leaves. I was able to figure it out and it's not bad. Just not my favorite for leaves.

Then we played games before calling it a night.

While we slept,  there was a lightning storm. It was the first time I have seen lightning,  one right after the other keeping the sky white. It ...

Vacations Can Make Me Forget from Quilting My Way

It was Saturday.  Yesterday was pretty much a quiet day, but I did get a few things done.

We did go out on the pontoon and look around.  They were going to go swim in the deep area, but changed their minds when we got there.

We found a few turtles enjoying the sun.

Came back and they sat in the water. I beaded and worked on my embroidery.

I did try and start the nest but it's boucle thread and a pain, I may work on that later.

When I went to beading,  I got messed up. I ...

Thursday- Relaxing from Quilting My Way

We started out by getting up at 9 am. I guess I am still on Washington time. Want to stay up passed midnight and get up around 9am.

This is what the Wiltzius men called relaxing.  All three had a good nap.

I came in the cabin and worked on my embroidery.

Took a break and played my game for a little bit, then did some beading.

This is the second panel of the three panels. I should have it done by the weekend.

Then I decided to try and get a little more done on my embroidery.

This is ...

Arrived At The Cabin from Quilting My Way

This morning we actually slept till 9 am. Wonder if it's the time change that got me. Chris and I went shopping to get the fresh fruits and vegetables.  Once all that was done, we headed put to Corner Lake.

I unloaded the car while Chris put all the food away. Patrick and Dennis were right behind us. They unloaded the kayaks and paddle boards.

We were unloaded in no time and sat outside by the water. I stayed inside and did some embroidery.

I got this far, and was falling asleep.  Took a nap. Then it was time ...

Fair Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up early getting ready for the fair. I realized I had forgotten a few things. I also forgot to get back with Sandy on having BE stuff there from our group. I texted Sandy V last night to make sure she got her tickets.

I started out with sending Bryan a family report on the ancestors of the Matheson side. I only gave him 5 generations, because it goes a lot longer than 16 pages otherwise. He will review and fix what needs to be fixed. I will get with him when we get back. I ...

July 2024 Short List and OMG from Quilt Paint Create

It’s now the second half of the year. I’m happy with what I’ve completed so far, yet it feels a bit unbalanced. The rest of the year could use a wider variety of projects.

I finished stitching and framed Summer Flowers in June, then started a new stitch project.

I began The Short List many years ago to create short-term goals and a way to focus. I change things up as my priorities and interests change.

Project 1 (Stitching): Peace on Earth by Cottage Garden Samplings. This is the first I’ve stitched one of their patterns ...
